The BEST sausage or bacon sandwiches! Fantastic atmosphere, staff brilliant!
Went with my friend and his kids (boys, 5 and 3)...Lots of interesting items in the museum, probably around 12 vehicles from tanks to (a)boat.Lots of other items, weapons, uniforms etc.Staff are volunteers, so despite other reviews I found them really interesting and engaging.Air gun shooting for the kids (which they loved!) And a cafe and souvenir shop on the way out.It is quite small, and if I had any issue maybe a bit expensive at 8 for adults, but I do hear you can visit as much as you want in 7 days for that.Kids under 5 are free.Would recommend a visit, and great fun for the kids! The volunteer staff are really keen to share their knowledge if you show interest...they even let us on the APC and got it running for us!Live tank displays during the summer, and APC rides :)
Lots to see, and very friendly staff who are happy to tell you all about the exhibits, and even show you inside some of them.
Lovely people and lots of things to do.I went down there with my fiancee and we went on a tank ride and did some shooting as well.Lots of military equipment and even met a lovely chap who was doing work experience there and he gave me a tour around the whole building and we had a nice chat.Also they had a small show where someone who works there showed off a bunch of equipment took them apart and even met us hold them.In the cafe I noticed a very old piano and I had to have a go. They did warn me it was very out of tune and it was however you could get some songs out of it.It was a top experience and I would reccomend it.
I took my young grandson to the museum today, and although I was a bit dubious ( how good can it be ) I was pleasantly surprised. It is extremely well presented, the staff are very knowledgeable, and kind. There is plenty to see, and the cafe next door, Churchill's, does amazing lunches. I would definitely recommend that you visit this place.
